This is a very random bunch of thoughts based from my collecting of GIJOE: A real American hero figures and vehicles. Contained here are memories, experiences, recent thoughts, completely random thoughts, and other random things on top of that. While one company has made, and makes, our shared interests, we all add into that interest with our own creativity. You, the reader, will find many, many, excellent sites among the links to see what other GIJoe fans are doing, hit them up! For GIJOE stuff that is more random in topic, you'll find it here.

Neck Joints.

I like the neck joint on the Acid Rain figure.  I would like to see something like this on Hasbro figures over the current mid-torso joint.   This neck joint really adds opportunity for more dynamic movement.  In addition, if each neck joint piece were designed uniquely into a Hasbro figure, I think there is some space to add more costume details that will blend this area visually making a very strong design.  (such as high collars)   I like how the trapezius muscles can still exist between without disappearing, usually resulting what looks like a stick neck for Hasbro.

Looking up with this Acid Rain figure is easy, it could be just a slight chin lift, a full head lift, or full on arc with the slight torso bend.  A slight head tilt or even full on sway of the head is possible.

I like the thickness of the where the more fabric detail is on the neck below, versus a Hasbro figure, where the neck becomes more of a thin stick shape.

I really don't like the double jointed knees here, or on any modern figure.   I appreciate stiff joints, but it takes some finessing to get figures to not look like they have severely dislocated their knee joints.   And it always seems like knee pads serve to fill that space.   Every modern figure seems to have this, but that same design didn't carry into the elbow with a elbow pad to fill the space?

Side by side, the fabric on the figures costume seems more full at the neck on the Acid Rain figure.   I still really like the waist joint on the Marauder figure way more than a Hasbro figure.  While I appreciate the range of motion on the Acid Rain figures legs, I have found it takes little force to have the legs pop off their hip pegs.

Here is where I think Hasbro could really use an Acid Rain like neck joint, Helix looks like she should be able to straight up, but even with the torso joint, for something that is "modern" or more advanced than the classic G.I.Joe style, the Hasbro figure ends up being more static than action, more block-y than what a the dynamic form of a human could be.
