Originally as a kid (and since 'about 1991 a collector) I wanted everything and as many of each as I could get. Due to a combo of personal real-life stuff, I decided to (very) drastically reduce down my collection of GIJOE stuff. My draw-down of stuff actually started in 2005, but bit-by-bit, to 2011's "big cut," I've decided to make my collecting habits MUCH smaller.
From here on, my GIJOE team is going to be a truly small elite and versatile team of action figures which are going to take on leaner, meaner, and more dedicated enemy forces.
The "Joeverse" story:
As with anything, organizations grow and expand as needs arise, and the supporting infrastructure that supports them grows large, as well.
Hawk could see this coming. Especially after the invasions of the PIT III in Utah. While this PIT was low-key, it was still not low-key enough. Cobra still found them, infiltrated, and attacked.
Remembering how the Joes faced an ambush when a Cobra named Raptor discovered how Hawk's troops pay was forwarded, Hawk wondered about how secure his team would be in the ever-expanding world of the technological battleground. Hawk wondered if his GIJOE team could simply be discovered, disabled, and defeated by a computer virus?
Hawk has since decided to make the GIJOE team a nomadic unit, once again, relying on their own skills and limited equipment. Only 28-Joes are active now, each one being continually evaluated by Hawk.
The "HQ" has subsequently been destroyed with no clues as to the destination or location of the elite 28-man GIJOE team. Hawk is the only link between the powers that be and his team now....
